Bingeify Privacy

Privacy Policy

Bingeify is a personal movie and TV companion. Catalog data comes from TMDB. Your lists, notes, and settings stay on your device unless you choose to send a search or browse request to TMDB.

Effective: October 26, 2026 App: Bingeify 1.1.0
No account

Bingeify does not ask you to create a login or profile.

No ads or tracking SDKs

The app does not include advertising, analytics, or IDFA tracking libraries.

On-device first

Watchlists, watch logs, and appearance choices are stored locally.

01 Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how the Bingeify iOS and iPadOS app ("Bingeify", "the app", "we") handles information when you use Home, Discover, search, title details, Stats, Profile, Settings, watchlists, watched lists, and watch notes.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Movie and TV titles, posters, ratings, overviews, and related catalog metadata are supplied by The Movie Database (TMDB).

02 Information we handle

Bingeify is designed so that personal viewing records do not require a Bingeify server account. The categories below reflect what the current app actually does.

Category Examples Where it lives Sent off device?
Watch lists Titles you save to Watchlist or mark as watched, including TMDB identifiers, titles, dates, and ratings copied from the catalog On your device (app storage) No
Watch notes Your score, written notes, where you watched (cinema, home, on the go), times watched, and watch date On your device No
Preferences Theme, contrast, Discover country or region, notification reminder toggle On your device No
Search and browse Search text, selected region, and requests for popular, now playing, upcoming, trending, or on-the-air titles Request is sent to TMDB; results may be shown and images cached on device Yes, to TMDB
Images Poster and backdrop artwork loaded from TMDB image servers Temporary cache on your device Image request goes to TMDB
Notifications Permission status, an optional weekly local watchlist reminder, and (if permission is granted) an Apple push device token received by the app Permission and reminder settings on device; token is handled by Apple Push Notification service Apple delivers notifications. Bingeify does not run a user account that uploads your lists to our own backend.

Information we do not collect

Search is requested with adult results turned off (include_adult=false). Catalog content is still provided by TMDB and may include titles intended for mature audiences depending on what TMDB returns.

03 How the information is used

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use on-device lists or notes to build advertising profiles.

04 Sharing and third parties

Bingeify shares information with others only as needed to operate the features you use:

Open-source libraries used in the app (including image loading and layout helpers) run on your device. They are not a separate consumer data service.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, or to respond to a valid legal request. Because most of your viewing records never leave the device, those records are typically available only on that device.

05 Retention and security

Watch lists, watch notes, and preferences remain on the device until you delete a title, change a setting, clear app data, or uninstall Bingeify. Cached images may be removed automatically when storage is reclaimed.

Network calls to TMDB use HTTPS. No security measure is perfect. If you use a shared device, anyone with access to the unlocked phone or iPad may see lists and notes stored in the app.

Uninstalling Bingeify removes the app's local records from that device. It does not delete information TMDB may already have processed from search or catalog requests, which is governed by TMDB's policy.

06 Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because Bingeify does not keep a cloud copy of your lists, the practical way to access or erase that content is on the device itself. For questions, use the contact path below.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, processing of catalog requests is necessary to provide the service you ask for. Local storage of lists and notes is performed at your request when you use those features.

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly used for advertising cross-context behavioral advertising. The TMDB requests described above are made to operate the catalog.

07 Children

Bingeify is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not provide an account sign-up for a child. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us.

09 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of Bingeify after an update means you are looking at the current description of how the app handles information. Material changes that affect how we handle personal information will be reflected here before those changes ship in the app, where reasonably possible.
